London, Paris, & NYC Premiere for ‘EOT’

THR is reporting that Warner Bros has set up 3 premiere for “Edge of Tomorrow“, and all on the same day (May 28)!

The stars of Edge of Tomorrow will race against the clock on an ambitious premiere world tour that will take them to three cities — in one day.

On May 28, Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt and director Doug Liman will attend launch events for the Warner Bros. film in three different countries, starting with the London premiere at 7 a.m., celebrating in Paris at 2 p.m. and capping off the festivities in New York City at 10 p.m.

In the film, Cruise plays Major William Cage, an officer with no combat experience who is sent into an essential suicide mission against alien invaders. He is killed within minutes, and is subsequently thrown into a time loop where he must repeatedly relive the same day — continuing to fight until he gets it right, a la Groundhog Day.

The globetrotting plans roughly reflect the plot of the film, which begins as Major Cage is deployed, alongside Blunt’s character, from London to France to war against the aliens.

The final screening of the day, which takes place in New York, begins at 11:59 p.m. — right on the “edge of tomorrow.”

Time’s 100 Most Influential People 2014

The Time’s revealed their 100 Most Influential People of 2014 earlier this week and Emily’s “Sunshine Cleaning” co-star and friend Amy Adams. Emily wrote Amy’s tribute.

The cinematic chameleon
Amy and I properly got to know each other in Albuquerque, N.M., while we were shooting Sunshine Cleaning. One night I was driving us home from a Mexican restaurant. I had just told her I was a great driver. Then, as we were leaving, I put the car in drive — rather than reverse — and drove us into a tree. It was a tap, not a cataclysmic crash. But to Amy, stuff like that is heaven. She just burst out laughing. That’s what I love most about Amy — she’s silly and funny and dirty. And she’s incredibly honest. She’s self-admittedly terrible at small talk and hiding her feelings, which I really admire in an industry full of gush. She’s also spooky-good at her job. There’s a certain mystique about Amy that helps the audience go with her on this chameleon of a career, from Enchanted to The Fighter to American Hustle. And I don’t think she’s discovered her full bag of tricks even yet.

Emily to star in “Sicario”

Variety is reporting that Emily is in talks for “Sicario”.

Emily Blunt is in talks to star in the thriller “Sicario,” which will be “Prisoners” helmer Denis Villeneuve’s next pic.

Basil Iwanyk, Thad and Trent Luckinbill and Edward McDonnell are set to produce.

Story follows an officer from Tucson, Arizona who travels across the border to Mexico with a pair of mercenaries to track down a drug lord.

Taylor Sheridan penned the script.

Villeneuve will film later this summer, and then follow that up with the sci-fi pic “Story of Your Life,” which has Amy Adams in early talks to star. That will shoot in early 2015.

Blunt has two tentpole pics set to bow this year with Warner Bros: “The Edge of Tomorrow,” also starring Tom Cruise, bowing on June 6, and Disney’s “Into the Woods,” premiering on Christmas Day.

She is repped by CAA.

Emily & John Krasinski Expecting First Child

Emily and husband John Krasinski have recently announced that they are expecting their first child! US Weekly have reported the below. Big congratulations to Emily & John.

Guess who’s the latest Hollywood starlet with a bun in the oven? Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinski are set to welcome a tiny bundle of joy in just a few months’ time, a rep for the actress confirms to Us Weekly.

The couple, who tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Italy in 2010, have never been shy about their desire for children, and have been making moves to ready themselves for parenthood, a source tells Us.

“They both want kids, it’s one of the reasons they got a bigger place, in a neighborhood that you can raise a family,” the source explained. “They both couldn’t be more excited.”

In an interview with Manhattan magazine last year, the 30-year-old British actress opened up about their hope to start a family.

“We want to have children; I just don’t know when yet,” the Devil Wears Prada star told the magazine. “I’m just not sure about the timing of all of that. We’re both from big families, so I think it’s something we want.”

A few months later, Krasinski, 33, told Matt Lauer on the Today show that he has been getting a taste of fatherhood from his pals who are already dads, like Matt Damon, with whom he was working at the time on the film Promised Land.

“We actually wrote with children climbing all over him, and he was doing bath time and dinner and everything, and we still got it done,” the former Office star said at the time.

Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt considered for title role; producer Reese Witherspoon will not star.

Witherspoon is producing with her Pacific Standard partner Bruna Papandrea and Leslie Dixon. New Regency is co-financing “Gone Girl,” which could start production as soon as this fall.

Emily in Talks to Join Disney’s ‘Into the Woods’

Variety – Emily Blunt is finalizing a deal to join Disney’s musical “Into the Woods” that Rob Marshall will direct for the studio.

Chris Pine and Jake Gyllenhaal also are in talks to join the film, which already has lined up Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep.

Film is based on Stephen Sondheim’s 1987 Broadway musical. David Krane (“Chicago,” “Nine”) is the arranger on the film, which will rely on Sondheim’s original music.

Musical revolves around a childless baker and his wife who attempt to lift a family curse by journeying into the woods to confront the witch that put the spell on them. Along the way, they encounter Rapunzel, Cinderella, “Jack and the Beanstalk’s” Jack Little Red Riding Hood and other classic fairy tale characters.

Blunt would play the baker’s wife, the female lead in the film.

There is no production start date yet for the project, but with such a strong cast coming together a greenlight is imminent.

James Lapine penned the script, based on his book for the musical.

John DeLuca, who previously produced Marshall’s “Chicago” and “Nine,” will serve as producer on “Into the Woods.”

Disney declined to comment.

Blunt, who recently wrapped Doug Liman’s sci-fi actioner “All You Need Is Kill,” with Tom Cruise, that Warner Bros. will release next year, is repped by CAA and Ken McReddie Associates.
