The Daily Mail is reporting that Emily is interested in Stephen Evans’ adaption of “Closely Guarded Secret”.
Actress Emily Blunt has been looking at a script based on the memoirs of Diana’s former bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, Closely Guarded Secret. And, say insiders, she likes what she has seen.
Emily, best known for The Devil Wears Prada, won bouquets for her title role in The Young Victoria, on which Sarah, Duchess of York was a producer.
Intriguingly, Emily is understood to have turned down the role of Diana when she was offered it for Caught In Flight, the film about the princess’s love affair with London heart surgeon Hasnat Khan and which now stars Watts. The Wharfe film is being developed by The Madness Of King George producer Stephen Evans.
Ewan McGregor has been widely tipped to play the burly policeman with a script that its makers promise will bring the ‘authentic Diana’ to the big screen, based on the memories of the people who were around her.
‘I know Emily has read the script and she has said she likes it,’ a member of the production tells me.
